6 Tampa Date Night Ideas That Aren’t Just Dinner

Tampa date night ideas at cake drip hyde park

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, you’re probably looking for plans. Whether you’re spending the evening with your significant other, showering your gal pals in love, or indulging in some self-care, here are 6 date ideas that aren’t dinner and drinks!

Making Chocolate Bars

Nothing says date night, especially on Valentine’s Day like chocolate. But why not take it a step further and make your own? Cake Drip in Hyde Park or St. Petersburg is amazing for Tampa date night, bachelorette parties, and birthdays. (My friend and I even made a split-second decision to go there during her “farewell” dinner.) You get to make custom chocolate bars with all types of mix-ins and toppings. There’s a tasting portion with bomb desserts. And did I mention, the champagne is flowing?

They take walk-ins, but the energy is so amazing that they’re almost always fully booked. So, run and make your reservation ASAP!

Candle Pour

Creating your own candle is a great idea for an interactive date night. The Candle Pour in Hyde Park has every scent imaginable and you get to mix and match until you find your perfect fragrance.

Plus, every time you go to burn your candles, you’ll be reminded of this Tampa date night.

Painting with a twist

You don’t have to be an artist to enjoy a good painting date night in Tampa. You can book a session with a studio where someone will guide you through the process. And there are even virtual options with take-home kits, so you can plan a date night at home. If you’re looking to do date night on a budget, visit your local art store and pick up some affordable paint, canvases, and brushes and click on a bob ross video.

Unsure what to paint? There are plenty of coordinating lovers and friends paintings that just wouldn’t be complete without the other half.

Pottery class or ceramic painting

Pottery class is a creative date night idea that takes a bit more focus. But if you don’t take yourself too seriously, it’s extremely fun and pretty hilarious. It’s also a great option for a bachelorette event.

Just make sure to turn on Unchained Melody and recreate the iconic ghost scene with your partner!

Don’t want to make your dishes? You can just paint them. There are plenty of ceramic painting spots in Tampa, like Drip Ybor!

Couples Massage

Treat yourself and your significant other to a couples’ massage! You’ll often be in the same room and can take the time to relax and unwind together.

To me, there’s really not much that beats a massage/spa day. You can even make a day of it with an Anyday Funday package at Safety Harbor Resort & Spa.

Cooking or Baking Class

Learning to make a new dish together can be fun (and obviously delicious), plus it gives you some fuel for future date nights at home.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, try a baking class instead. You can even decorate or bake items for your significant other.

Whatever you choose to do for your Tampa date night, I’m sure your partner (or yourself) will love it!
